About the Role
The Head of People will shape and lead the full people strategy across the organization. This is a senior leadership position responsible for talent acquisition, culture development, performance management, compensation, organizational design, and HR operations. You will advise the CEO, partner with leaders across every department, and ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

What You Will Do
People Strategy and Leadership
- Build and execute a people strategy that supports company goals
- Provide structure, direction, and clarity across all HR functions
- Support organizational design, role definition, and workforce planning
- Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team on people decisions
Talent Acquisition and Employer Brand
- Lead recruitment for corporate, technical, creative, operational, and field roles
- Build scalable hiring processes and competency frameworks
- Strengthen employer brand visibility and candidate experience
- Improve quality of hire and reduce time to fill
Culture and Employee Engagement
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
- Build engagement programs that strengthen alignment and communication
- Support an inclusive and positive workplace for hybrid and on-site teams
- Lead initiatives that reinforce company values and team culture
Performance Management and Leadership Development
- Manage performance review cycles and goal setting processes
- Coach managers on leadership, communication, and team success
- Support career development, succession planning, and mentorship programs
- Identify skills gaps and develop training programs
HR Operations, Compensation, and Benefits
- Oversee HR operations including HRIS management, payroll coordination, and documentation
- Manage compensation strategy, benchmarking, and job leveling
- Oversee benefits administration and external vendor partnerships
- Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely HR processes
Compliance and Employee Relations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment law
- Uphold policies, handbook content, and HR documentation standards
- Manage sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and clarity
- Support workplace safety and risk mitigation
Change Management and Organizational Growth
- Support integrations, new structures, and technology adoption
- Build processes that scale with growth and new business opportunities
- Strengthen internal communication and organizational alignment
What You Bring
Required
- 7 to 12 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including leadership
- Proven success building HR systems in growing or evolving organizations
- Strong experience in recruiting, performance management, compensation, and employee relations
- Excellent knowledge of employment law and compliance
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels
- Strong relationship building skills and a strategic mindset
Preferred
- Experience in ecommerce, manufacturing, home products, or technology driven environments
- Experience partnering with both creative and technical teams
Compensation
Salary: $100,000 to $115,000 depending on experience
Full time position with hybrid work preference in Minneapolis.
