Position Overview:
Location: 2x per week in Princeton, NJ
Compensation: $150K – $225K base + bonus / commission + Equity
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Sales Leader to join our team as a key member of our executive leadership team. As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for driving the company’s commercial strategy, revenue growth, and market expansion efforts. Your leadership will be crucial in defining our go-to-market approach, building customer relationships, and achieving business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals and growth ambitions.
Drive the identification of new market opportunities, customer segments, and revenue streams.
Go-to-Market Planning:
Lead the creation of effective go-to-market strategies for our products, ensuring successful product launches and market penetration.
Define pricing strategies, positioning, and messaging to maximize product value.
Revenue Generation:
Oversee all revenue-generating activities, including sales, marketing, partnerships, and business development efforts.
Develop and implement strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and upselling.
Sales and Business Development:
Provide strategic direction to the sales team, setting ambitious targets and leading the execution of sales initiatives.
Deliver compelling sales presentations and pitches to prospective clients, highlighting the unique value of our products.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns.
Design and implement effective sales processes, workflows, and tools to optimize the sales cycle and enhance efficiency.
Monitor and analyze sales data, trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Marketing and Branding:
Collaborate with the marketing agency to develop and execute impactful marketing campaigns that effectively communicate our product’s value proposition.
Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all customer touchpoints.
Market Intelligence and Analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify business opportunities and challenges.
Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions that contribute to the company’s success.
Customer Relationship Management:
Champion a customer-centric approach, fostering strong relationships with clients and ensuring their needs are met.
Drive customer satisfaction, gather feedback, and advocate for product enhancements based on customer insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with other executive leaders to align commercial strategies with product development, operations, and overall business goals.
Leadership and Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze commercial performance metrics, providing regular reports to the executive team and board of directors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
Proven track record of success in senior commercial leadership roles within startup/early-stage environments for technology-driven companies.
Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies, sales methodologies, and customer acquisition tactics.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to drive growth through innovative approaches.
Data-driven mindset, with proficiency in analyzing and interpreting commercial data.
Entrepreneurial spirit, adaptable to the fast-paced dynamics of a startup.
Proficiency in commercial and CRM tools.
Ability to travel as needed to meet clients, attend industry events, and build relationships.
10+ years hands-on outside sales experience selling software products to enterprises (experience within Supply chain and/or Manufacturing /Life sciences / Pharmaceutical domain is required).
