Customer Engineer / Product Owner (Hybrid Role) Location: Remote (U.S.) — ideal alignment with PST or CST
Compensation: $120K–$150K base
About the Role We’re looking for a Customer Engineer / Product Owner hybrid who can bridge the gap between customers, product, and engineering.
You’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of technical implementations — owning integrations, data pipelines, and workflow configuration — while ensuring that customer needs translate directly into scalable product improvements.
This is a hands-on technical customer-facing role that requires strong communication skills, the ability to navigate complex integrations, and a background in software, APIs, or SaaS environments. It’s not a coding position, but past development experience is a huge plus.
What You’ll Do Implementation & Delivery
- Lead onboarding and implementation projects from scoping through post-launch.
- Partner with implementation engineers to design and deploy ETL-style data pipelines that:
- Ingest data from external sources (FTP servers, on-prem systems, scrapers, etc.).
- Transform and load data into internal systems.
- Configure document ingestion and workflow automation.
- Drive technical discussions around API access, integration design, and data flow between systems.
- Coordinate customer testing, iteration cycles, and workflow configuration to replicate and improve their current processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary technical liaison between customers, product, and engineering.
- Gather customer requirements and translate them into clear, actionable technical specs.
- Protect project scope and ensure commitments are defined and achievable pre-contract.
- Maintain transparency and accountability throughout delivery, surfacing risks early.
Product Feedback & Enablement
- Capture recurring customer pain points and translate them into roadmap recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of reusable playbooks and documentation for future implementations.
- Partner with engineering to refine tooling, integrations, and overall implementation processes.
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of APIs (REST/GraphQL), data integrations, and workflow design.
- Experience using Postman or similar tools to test endpoints and review payloads.
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data transformations, and SaaS integration concepts.
- Bonus: scripting or query ability in Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Prior software development experience preferred but not required.
Who You Are
- 4–8 years of experience in SaaS, B2B, or platform environments (ideally govtech).
- Comfortable owning projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.
- Thrive in fast-moving, startup-like environments where you wear multiple hats.
- Excellent communicator who can bridge business and technical teams.
- Prefer smaller, agile teams over large enterprise settings.
