Senior Accountant – On-site (Durham, NC)

As the Senior Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in the financial operations of a rapidly scaling business. This is not your typical back-office accounting job—you’ll be directly involved in shaping reporting accuracy, improving processes, and driving operational efficiency across eCommerce, retail, and inventory channels. What You’ll Do

• Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage daily cash activity, reconciliations, and short-term forecasting to support liquidity and working capital goals.
• Partner with operations on inventory and cost accounting to ensure accurate COGS and margin reporting.
• Oversee revenue and retail accounting, including eCommerce and retail channel reconciliations.
• Support external audits and prepare key management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
• Maintain fixed asset records, improve internal controls, and help streamline accounting processes.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within CPG, manufacturing, or another inventory-driven business.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Xero, or QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in consumer products, cosmetics, or similar industries.
• Experience with eCommerce platforms like Amazon and Shopify.
• Familiarity with multi-state sales tax, logistics accounting, or private equity-backed environments.

The Details
Location: On-site in Durham, NC
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM EST
Salary: $130,000 per year
