Senior Executive Controller – On-site (FL)

We are partnering with a fast-scaling modular homebuilding platform to hire a Senior Executive Controller who will take true ownership of the finance and accounting function during a critical growth phase. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building systems, bringing clarity to complex operations, and partnering closely with executives to drive profitable growth.

This role sits at the center of decision-making, connecting accounting accuracy with operational execution. You will help leadership understand where the business is making money, where risk exists, and how to scale with confidence.
 
What you will own
Accounting and financial operations

• Own the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely monthly and year-end close
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
• Maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial discipline
• Coordinate with external CPAs for tax preparation and compliance

Job costing and project finance

• Lead job costing, WIP tracking, and margin analysis
• Oversee financial tracking for prefabrication and subassembly workflows including labor, materials, and overhead
• Partner with operations and construction leaders to ensure cost visibility and accountability
• Build reporting that directly ties financial performance to project execution

Financial leadership and decision support

• Prepare monthly reporting packages for executive leadership
• Provide insights on profitability, cash flow, and operational performance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

Systems, process, and scale

• Improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
• Support process standardization as the company grows geographically
• Build a finance function designed for scale and operational complexity

What we are looking for
Required

• 8 or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Prior experience as a Controller, Senior Controller, or similar role
• Strong understanding of job costing, project-based accounting, or construction and real estate finance
• Proven ability to partner with operations and executive leadership
• Comfortable owning both detailed execution and strategic insight

Preferred

• Background in construction, modular building, manufacturing, or real estate development
• Experience in a growth-stage or scaling organization

Work setup and compensation
