VP, Planning – On-site (NY)

We’re partnering with a dynamic, design-led lifestyle collective seeking a Vice President of Planning to lead merchandise, demand, and financial planning across its multi-channel wholesale business.

As Vice President of Planning, you’ll lead transformation efforts that elevate inventory strategies, improve forecasting precision, and optimize profitability across categories. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional leaders to balance data-driven decision-making with strong product and market intuition, ensuring the business continues to scale efficiently and strategically.
 
What You’ll Do

• Lead the transformation of planning processes to align with financial goals and evolving business strategies.
• Drive forecasting for sales, gross margin, and inventory across wholesale channels.
• Oversee merchandise financial planning, assortment strategy, and the buying process, including lifecycle and replenishment planning.
• Partner closely with Sales to monitor retail performance, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure alignment with account needs and growth targets.
• Develop and implement standardized tools, metrics, and reporting to improve visibility and accountability.
• Collaborate with Design, Sourcing, and Production to synchronize product, inventory, and financial objectives.
• Provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team.
• Contribute to system implementations and process improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency.
• Support capacity planning initiatives and foster partnerships with key factory and supply chain stakeholders.

What You Bring

• 15+ years of planning and merchandising experience within wholesale apparel, beauty, or accessories.
• Proven success in transforming planning processes and optimizing inventory and margin performance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
• Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and mentoring talent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and planning or merchandising systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Recent experience in wholesale planning is required.
