Accounting Manager – On-site [PA]

We’re partnering with an established manufacturing and building products organization to find an Accounting Manager who can take meaningful ownership of the day-to-day accounting function. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable managing people and getting into the details of the books.
 
Why This Role Stands Out
You’ll have significant visibility and ownership within the organization, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with leadership to keep the accounting function accurate, organized, and accountable.
 
This is not a high-level CFO or Finance Director position where you simply oversee from a distance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, solving accounting issues, reviewing reconciliations, improving processes, and making sure the team stays ahead of its responsibilities.
 
You’ll also have an opportunity to refine existing processes and establish stronger accountability across the accounting department.
 
What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee a four-person accounting team, including two Accountants, AP, AR, and a Special Projects Accountant
• Own day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting
• Review and maintain accurate P&L and balance sheet activity
• Coordinate tax, audit, and other external accounting requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and accountability
• Ensure the accounting team stays organized and on top of financial activities throughout the year
• Provide hands-on support and guidance when complex accounting matters require additional attention

What We’re Looking For
The right person will bring a strong general accounting foundation along with proven experience leading an accounting team.
 
You’ll ideally have:

• Strong hands-on general accounting experience
• Experience supervising or leading an accounting team
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, balance sheet, P&L, and account reconciliations
• Previous manufacturing accounting experience
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Infor XA experience is a major plus
• A practical, detail-oriented approach to accounting and problem solving
• The ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution
• A stable career history and a track record of taking ownership

Compensation & Employment Details

• $130,000 USD base salary, with flexibility for an exceptionally strong candidate
• Full-time, permanent employment
• Primarily on-site in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Monday through Friday
• Some flexibility is available for occasional appointments or personal needs, but this is not intended to be a regular hybrid position

• The interview process includes conversations with HR, the CEO, and an Accounting Consultant, along with a Predictive Index (PI) Assessment
