Business Development Specialist – IT MSP Services

We are partnered with a Managed Services Provider agency seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive lead generation and early-stage sales activities.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll play a key part in identifying, engaging, and nurturing prospective clients, laying the foundation for successful partnerships. You will focus on outbound prospecting, strategic networking, and qualifying opportunities before handing them off to the senior sales team for closing. This role requires a proactive, research-driven approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to craft compelling outreach strategies.

This position reports directly to the executive leadership team. The ideal candidate is based in the Northeast region and will work remotely, with some expected travel (e.g., 1x per quarter for conferences and networking events), but we are open to candidates in the continental US or remote employees based in LATAM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outbound prospecting to generate and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies across various roles and categories.
  • Research potential clients, identify key decision-makers, and initiate meaningful conversations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospects through strategic follow-ups and engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop outreach campaigns and refine messaging.
  • Work closely with the sales team to transition qualified leads for further engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and lead progression in HubSpot or similar CRM systems.
  • Support RFP and RFI responses by gathering initial prospect insights and requirements.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities.

What You Bring:

  • 1.5+ years of experience in business development, lead generation, or sales support, with an IT Managed Services Provider
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to identify high-potential leads.
  • Excellent communication, prospecting, and relationship-building skills.
  • A results-driven, highly organized, and self-motivated approach.
  • Experience with HubSpot or other CRM systems for pipeline management
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
