Buyer – On-site (OH)

We’re partnering with a highly specialized manufacturing organization to find a Buyer who thrives in a precision-driven, fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the procurement process end-to-end, building strong supplier relationships, and playing a critical role in keeping production running smoothly.
 
As a Buyer, you will be at the center of operations, ensuring that high-quality materials, tooling, and subcontracted services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical understanding of machining processes and a proactive mindset when it comes to problem-solving and supplier management.
 
What You’ll Be Doing

• Source and procure raw materials, cutting tools, fixtures, gauging equipment, and subcontracted machining and finishing services
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, from RFQs and vendor selection to purchase orders, expediting, and delivery tracking
• Analyze supplier bids based on cost, quality, and lead times, and negotiate favorable pricing and terms
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules without overstocking
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while monitoring performance and addressing issues
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, and supplier development
• Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, quality concerns, and delivery delays in collaboration with internal teams
• Stay informed on market trends, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100 and ISO 9001

What We’re Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or vendor management
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of precision machining environments, including metals, drawings, and manufacturing processes
• Experience working with BOMs, routings, and outside processing such as heat treating or plating
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relationships effectively
• Familiarity with aerospace and defense standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or ITAR is a strong plus
• Experience using ERP systems; familiarity with Infor Syteline is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
