Director of eCommerce (Amazon & Shopify, CPG)

Position Summary: The Director of eCommerce will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive eCommerce strategy to drive online sales and enhance the customer experience. This role requires extensive experience with Amazon and Shopify, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. eCommerce Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement a robust eCommerce strategy across Amazon and Shopify platforms to drive sales and profitability.
    • Identify growth opportunities and emerging trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  2. Amazon Platform Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of the Amazon sales channel, including product listings, advertising, pricing strategies, and inventory management.
    • Optimize product visibility and rankings through effective SEO and PPC campaigns.
    • Monitor and analyze sales performance, customer reviews, and feedback to make data-driven decisions.
  3. Shopify Platform Management:
    • Manage the Shopify storefront, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience.
    • Collaborate with the design and development teams to implement website enhancements and new features.
    • Utilize Shopify apps and integrations to enhance functionality and streamline operations.
  4. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of eCommerce professionals, including product managers, digital marketers, and customer service representatives.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze eCommerce performance metrics, sales data, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and support for eCommerce initiatives.
    • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to enhance eCommerce capabilities.
  7. Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the eCommerce budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
    • Monitor expenses and profitability to ensure financial targets are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in eCommerce management, with a focus on Amazon and Shopify platforms.
  • Proven track record of driving significant sales growth and achieving revenue targets.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, and Shopify admin tools.
  • Experience with SEO, PPC, and digital marketing strategies specific to eCommerce.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel).
