Director of Planning – Hybrid (NY)

Hire With Jarvis is working with a dynamic consumer business partner seeking a Director of Planning who will drive replenishment and retail planning strategy and execution across multiple channels.

What you will do
In this role, you will own end-to-end planning strategy for replenishment and retail business performance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team
• Build and execute replenishment strategies that support demand and drive service levels
• Oversee inventory positioning across channels to maintain optimal availability and minimize obsolescence
• Develop and enhance forecasting models that leverage historical trends, POS data, customer insights, and market conditions
• Own top-down and bottom-up financial planning for sales, margin, receipts, and inventory
• Identify risks and opportunities through ongoing analysis of sales trends, margins, and inventory data
• Partner across Sales, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to align business plans and ensure seamless execution
• Engage with retail partners to gather insights and align on inventory strategies
• Leverage advanced planning systems and analytic tools to improve forecasting accuracy, visibility, and efficiency
• Champion continuous improvement of tools, processes, and best practices in planning and inventory management

Who will thrive in this role

• 10+ years of progressive experience in retail, wholesale, or merchandising planning
• Strong experience in replenishment, forecasting, and inventory management
• Proven leadership experience developing high-performing teams
• Advanced analytical skills and financial planning expertise
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions
• Proficiency with enterprise planning systems and tools, including advanced Excel skills
• Comfort shaping strategy while driving execution in a fast-paced environment
