Role Overview:

The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) plays a critical role in leading the organization’s technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving innovation to support growth and efficiency. This position requires a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in both technical leadership and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the organization’s IT department, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans and priorities to drive innovation, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in technology programs and services.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and prioritize technology investments and initiatives that support business growth and competitiveness.
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT management and governance, incorporating relevant advancements into the organization’s IT strategy and operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the IT team, promoting innovation and professional growth.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external partners, vendors, and service providers, negotiating contracts and managing relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in IT, with a track record of leadership and achievement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams and managers in a complex IT environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree and/or technical certifications preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Preferred experience with the implementation and support of web-based and RPG applications.
  • Experience with warehouse operational functions and processes is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership ability, with a track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a complex IT environment.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable IT initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems architecture, and software development methodologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively navigate ambiguity and change.
